Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS) Azad Jammu And Kashmir, 2020-21

The Bureau of Statistics, Planning and Development Department, Government of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has undertaken to conduct the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) Azad Jammu And Kashmir, 2020 on the analogy of provinces of Pakistan. The MICS Azad Jammu And Kashmir, 2020 is being conducted throughout the State, covering households in both urban and rural areas. The sample size designed and provided by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is 7,960 households distributed across the State. The information will be collected through questionnaires on households, women and men 15-49 years and children under the age of 5 years and 5-17 years alongwith the Water Quality Test. The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) is a household survey developed by UNICEF to assist countries in filling data gaps for monitoring the situation of children and women. It is designed to produce estimates of indicators that are statistically sound and internationally comparable. The data will be helpful for informed decision making to plan the socio-economic development of the area/state. The Field Teams have been deployed in all the districts of AJ&K from 4th November 2020 and data collection is expected to be completed by the end of February 2021.
